Weekly meeting (w 13)
Today we had one of the shortest weekly meetings in the history of Databox. It was about 45 minutes including the “ordinary” 15 minute delay.
Today we discussed next week “game panel” presentation and who is gonna make it and if we needed any new layout (or use the last one). We haven’t heard which people or from which game companies that will be present, so it might be the people from last presentation (better ask mr T).
Since we stated “major sprint 4″ this Tuesday we went though what went right and wrong in sprint 3. The coding is still a bit behind, but that’s mainly because Baba and Jakob have had programming classes the last 2 weeks. The 3d modeling is also speeding up and we’re on track there.
Sprint 4 is a pure production period, no more testing or concepting. The game is up and running, the level editor is stable and it’s just about putting content together and make a game.
We work as “couples” :p
Yepp, we work mostly in pairs. This mainly because of two things:
You can get good feedback right away and if someone should be sick or can’t do his job, the other person can jump right in and continue where he left off. When programmers do this it’s called “extreme programming”, so it’s kind of like this we work: Håkan/Jens (me), Dwarf/Niki, Baba/Jakob, Jona/Tekie. So no lead just couples :p
Where we are right now
The point that we’re at now …
There’s a lot going on right now. Everyone on the team got their hand full of things to do.
The programmers (Johan and Jakob): Just got the game engine running on the Xbox 360 and is right now trying out the level editor for the game.
The artists (Nixi & Dwarf): is up to doing concept art for all the enemies and environments.
3d artists (Jona & Tobias): will shortly start to make 3d models of enemies and objects in the game
The Narrative (Stoff): Is writing the dialog and the environments.
Me (Me): I’m just chilling and sleeping :p Not really I’m running this blog and will try to get some exposure for our game. I’m also involved in the music and the SFX in the game.
Up and running on the White box!
Hurray! Today we got our tech up and running on the Xbox 360. Nothing fancy, but our first milestone is reached.
So now that we know that it’s working, all we have to do now is to make “some” more tech and a great game. By the way, the strange grumbling sound you hear are our two programmers (Baba & Jakob) speaking Swedish.
