Databox Games was ahead of Guitar Heroes!

Well you read it right. Some people on the Databox Games team made an arcade game some years back called “Head Banger”. The purpose of the game was to “headbang” and play “air guitar” in sync with the music. Bands features in the game were bands like The Haunted and Refused. The game never went into production due to the great risk of neck problems playing the game. Swedish national TV also showed it in a tv show segment. Check out the game trailer, years before Guitar Hero!

Flippat, game show! (29-31 oktober)

These last days Håkan have been at the game show Flippat in the southern part of Sweden in Malmö. He and some other students showed games that they have done such as Drinks for the Nintendo DS. Drinks was also shown at a huge outside big screen at the centre of Malmö. Other games that also were shown there were Red Alert 3, Mirrors Edge and Guitar Heroes World Tour. Here’s a clip that shows the Drinks video shown at the outside screen.

Up and running on the White box!

Hurray! Today we got our tech up and running on the Xbox 360. Nothing fancy, but our first milestone is reached.
So now that we know that it’s working, all we have to do now is to make “some” more tech and a great game. By the way, the strange grumbling sound you hear are our two programmers (Baba & Jakob) speaking Swedish.

Don't Drinks and Drive!

Have you heard of the game Drinks? It’s made some people here at Databox Games and developed for the hand held Nintendo DS. You play as a bartender in a city and learn how to mix drinks in different bars with different customers. Due to problem of getting a developer kit for the NDS from Nintendo the game haven’t been released yet. Have a look at the Drinks video below or check out more videos and pictures at Drinks website.
