Be careful what you wish for ….

At the seminar we had with Kjartan Vidarsson, he suggested that we should have “wish list” where all new ideas that we come up with should be on. What ideas we choose to implement into the game, should be decided by a voting system within the team. This so that everyone got their opinion heard.
So today I spend approx 2 hours writing down all ideas I could come up with, that’s not yet in the game, on our newly installed “wish list”. I posted around 10 ideas, but every idea had about 5-10 more ideas in them. So the danger with this system is that if a majority of us in the team likes most of the ideas that we come up with, we will be spending at least 1-2 years just adding “cool and nice” content and features to PoH. I guess that 3d Realms have had this kind of “wish list” since day one for Duke Nukem Forever :p (that’s why it will rock when it comes out).
The thing with this kind of system is that we have to priorities all of the new features that are voted through and we have to start implementing them if there is time. Not adding them as we go along making the game, unless the features is really awesome or just will take some hours to implement.
I just got a new idea that I will put up on the list, guess Håkan will flip when he see all of the ideas :p
